There will be a special celebration to honour our Haida Language Elders on Tuesday, December 13 at George M. Dawson School. The entire school will be walking over to GMD at 1:00 PM. Our Kindergarten to Grade 3 classes will be singing and dancing with their Tahayghen Taan blankets. Our students will be walking back to Tahayghen at approximately 2:30 PM. The entire community has been invited to this special event so please join us there! |

It will be held in the Haida Cultural Room (Rm. 12) and the hours are: NOON to 1:00 PM and 3:00 to 5:30 from Monday to Wednesday; and the final sales session will be on Thursday, December 8 from noon to 1:00 PM. |

Kids in Motion for Kindergarten to Grade 3 students began on November 3 and will continue until December 1. It is held on Wednesdays from 2:45 to 4:00. The program involves fun games and exercises that get the heart pumping followed by a healthy snack. |

Tahayghen students and staff will be participating in fundraising and a walk in support of the Terry Fox Marathon of Hope campaign. During the week of September 19-23 students and staff will be collecting change for "Change for the Cure": Mondays = pennies; Tuesday = Nickels; Wednesday = Dimes; Thursday = Quarters; and Friday = Loonies.
On Thursday, September 22 at 1:00 the students and staff will also do a mini Terry Fox Run/Walk. |

The Grades 4-7 students will be doing skill development workshops with talented local instructors every Friday afternoon (1:00-3:00) from January 20 to March 2. The workshops are: Bentwood Box Making, Pottery, Carving, Weaving, Surfing, Aikido, Photography, and Haida Design.
On March 9 the students will showcase their new skills at a special exhibition in our gym.
Note: January 20 was cancelled due to poor road/weather conditions. The replacement date is February 17! |
